Privacy Policy

In short: Zero To 1000 is free. There are no adverts, no analytics and no tracking cookies, and we never sell your data. We keep only what we need to run your searches and stop abuse, and we delete it on a schedule.
Who we are
Zero To 1000 (zero-to-1000.com) is run by Lee Parry, an individual, who is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at [email protected].
What we collect and why
- What you type and pick. The name, idea or domain you search for, your answers in Create a name, the platforms and industry you choose. We use them to run your search and to show you the results, and we keep them with the search so its link keeps working.
- Your IP address. We store it with each search to apply fair-use limits (for example, a number of searches per hour) and to stop abuse. We erase it from our records after 30 days.
- Your wish list. The names you save and the results we checked for them. Without an account, the list is linked to a random ID kept in your browser, not to your name.
- Your tokens. Searches use tokens. We keep a record of the tokens you get and use, and what you used them on (for example, "Check: sprinkle"). Without an account, this is linked to a random ID kept in your browser; if you sign in, it moves to your account. We keep these records for about a month.
- Shared links and gifts. If you share your link, we record when someone new arrives through it, so we can add your tokens; we never tell you who they are. If you send a gift, we store the first name and note you type, and show them to whoever opens the gift link.
- If you sign in with Google. When this option is available and you use it, we receive your Google account ID, email address and first name from Google. We use them only to keep your wish list and tokens with you across devices, and show your first name at the top of the page so you can see you're signed in. We never receive your Google password, and we don't send you email.
- Server logs. Our web server records your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser type. We keep these logs for about two weeks to keep the service secure and to fix problems.
What is stored in your browser
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare, which protects the site from bots, sets one security cookie (cf_clearance) that lasts up to a year. If you sign in with Google, we set one more essential cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. The site also uses your browser's local storage to remember your last platform picks and industry, your Create answers, your recent searches, your wish list ID and your token wallet ID, so you don't have to start again each visit. This stays on your device; clearing the site's data in your browser removes it.
Who else is involved
- Cloudflare carries all traffic to the site and protects it from attacks, so it sees your IP address and the pages you request.
- Anthropic (Claude) writes name ideas and judges which brands are rivals. The idea text and Create answers you type are sent to it for this, without your name or IP address.
- Search and lookup services, including Scrapingdog and Google Search, receive the names and idea text we look up to find rivals and check names.
- The places we check (domain registries, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit, the App Store, Google Play, the US and EU trademark offices and others) receive only the name being checked, from our server, never your IP address.
- Google confirms who you are if you choose to sign in with Google. Google's sign-in button loads from Google only when you open Sign in, so Google sees that visit, under its own privacy policy.
- When you follow a link to register a domain or sign up on a platform, that site's own privacy policy applies.
We don't sell or share personal data for advertising, and we don't use any analytics or advertising services.
Where your data is stored
Our server is in Tokyo, Japan. The European Union and the United Kingdom both recognise Japan as giving personal data an adequate level of protection. Some of the providers above process data in the United States. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards in our agreements with them, such as the UK–US data bridge, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Searches and their results: 12 months, after which a saved search link stops working.
- IP addresses stored with searches: 30 days.
- Server logs: about two weeks.
- Wish list items: until you remove them, or 12 months after your last visit.
- Token records: about a month.
- Gift links, with the name and note in them: about a month after they're made or used.
- A Google sign-in account: until you delete it.
Our legal basis
Under the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation, we process your data to provide the service you ask for, and for our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure, fair and free of abuse.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, and you can object to or ask us to restrict how we use it. Email [email protected]; we reply within 30 days. Because we usually don't know who you are, include the link to your search or your wish list so we can find the right records. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or to the data protection authority where you live.
If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law: we don't sell or share your personal information, and you can ask us what we hold about you and ask us to delete it, in the same way.
Children
Zero To 1000 is not meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Security
All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS, access to the server is restricted, and service keys are kept on the server only.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
