Using your .store
A .store tells shoppers they can buy from you. Plan for the renewal, which costs far more than the first year.
Basics
What is a .store domain good for?
Selling online. Radix says .store is "preferred by online sellers, iconic brands, and content creators", and MrBeast sells his merchandise at mrbeast.store. Rules and prices are on the .store checker.[1]
What does a .store cost after the first year?
$43.77 a year at Porkbun, about 17 times the $2.57 first year. Short dictionary words can be premium, and each premium tier can set its own renewal price. Compare endings by renewal price.[2, 3, 4]
How do you connect a .store to Shopify?
Point your DNS records at Shopify, then connect the domain in Shopify admin. It can take up to 48 hours to go fully live. Check your Shopify name too.
| Record | Value |
|---|---|
| A, host @ | 23.227.38.65 |
| AAAA, host @ | 2620:0127:f00f:5:: |
| CNAME, host www | shops.myshopify.com. |
| In Shopify admin | Settings > Domains > Connect existing domain |

How do you set up email and HTTPS on a .store?
The same way as on any domain; .store adds no rules of its own.
| Step | What to know |
|---|---|
| Gmail requires SPF or DKIM from every sender; over 5,000 a day, SPF, DKIM and DMARC | |
| HTTPS | Chrome and Safari now try HTTPS first for every site, so add a certificate |
| Certificate | Many hosts set up a free Let's Encrypt certificate; on your own server, use Certbot |
Advanced
What can get a .store suspended?
Abuse, or contact details that aren't accurate. Radix's policy lets it cancel, delete, transfer, lock or suspend a .store for any of these.
| Reason | Examples |
|---|---|
| Selling fakes | Counterfeit products, illegal pharmaceuticals |
| Harmful use | Phishing, malware, spam, scams |
| Others' rights | Trademark or copyright violations, cybersquatting |
| Your details | Contact details that aren't accurate or up to date |

Does a .store rank worse on Google than a .com?
No. In 2015, Google said its systems treat new endings like .com and .org, and that keywords in an ending give no advantage or disadvantage. It treats .store as generic, not tied to a country. For search and AI steps, see Using your .com; they work the same on a .store.[9, 10]
