Who can register a .co?

Anyone, through an accredited registrar: the registry offers .co to businesses, startups and individuals alike. Only restricted names, such as those under .gov.co and .edu.co, go through Colombia's own registry site.[3, 4]

How do you register a .co?

  1. Check the name above, with the .com and your handles.
  2. Pick a registrar from the registry's list, comparing renewal prices, not just the first year.
  3. Register it under your registrar's agreement, with true and current details.
  4. Turn on auto-renew and the transfer lock.[3, 4]

What should you know before you register a .co?

Renewals cost about double the first year: $15.76, then $31.20 a year at Porkbun. Compare other endings' renewal prices.

What if the .co you want is taken?

Look for close versions, wait for it to be deleted, or file a UDRP complaint if it copies your trademark. The .co registry has adopted ICANN's UDRP.
