Discord vanity URL checker and rules
A vanity URL, which Discord now calls a Custom Invite Link, is a discord.gg/yourname address for a server. Our check looks up that invite. How our checks work
What can a Discord vanity URL contain?
Up to 25 lowercase letters, numbers and dashes. Discord doesn't publish a minimum, so our checker starts at 3 characters.[1, 6, secondary]
What do you need for a Discord vanity URL?
A server at Server Boost Level 3, which takes 14 boosts. Discord's Partner and Verified programs also include one, but both are paused.
| Need | Detail |
|---|---|
| Level 3 | 14 Server Boosts, from you or your members |
| Public channel | At least one text channel that @everyone can view |
| Partner or Verified | Not accepting applications |
What do Discord Server Boosts cost?
About $4.99 a month per boost, a 2021 guide reports; Discord's pages say prices vary by country and give no list price.
| Option | Detail |
|---|---|
| One boost | $4.99 a month, as reported |
| Level 3 | 14 boosts, about $70 a month, as reported |
| Nitro | $9.99 a month, with 2 boosts and 30% off extra boosts |
How do you set up a Discord vanity URL?
What should you know before you set up a Discord vanity URL?
It makes your server public, and you keep it only while the boosts last.
| Fact | What it means |
|---|---|
| Public server | Anyone with the link can join |
| Boosts lapse | Perks pause after 72 hours; the link goes to others after 30 days |
| Removal | Discord can remove it for abuse or an intellectual property conflict |
| No pre-check | Discord Support can't confirm it; our check above shows if it's in use |
What can go wrong with a Discord vanity URL, and how do you fix it?
Most errors mean the name is taken or a channel setting changed.
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Error when saving | The name may be taken or invalid; try another |
| Link shows as invalid | Make at least one text channel visible to @everyone |
| Server lost Level 3 | Restore the boosts within 30 days to keep the link |
| You want to remove it | Choose Remove Custom Invite Link in Boost Perks |
