What can a .com name contain?

Letters, numbers and hyphens, up to 63 characters before the .com, following the internet's own standards.

Renewals vary	The .com renews at the same price; .co is $15.76, then $31.20 a year
60-day lock	No move to another registrar for 60 days after registering, a transfer or an owner change
Transfer code	Your registrar must give it to you within 5 days of asking
Renewal reminders	About a month and a week before expiry. After expiry, your site and email stop
30 days to restore	After deletion, the registrar can still restore it for 30 days
Accurate details	Update them within 7 days of a change. Ignore your registrar's questions for 15 days and it can suspend the name

The .com is taken	Keep your name: the checker shows endings like .co or .app, and close versions, that are available with your handles. Compare them in Which domain ending should I pick?
You can't move it to another registrar	You may be in a 60-day lock. Ask for the transfer code; it's due within 5 days
Your website stopped working	The name may have expired. Renew it, or restore it within 30 days of deletion
Your domain was suspended	Correct your contact details and answer your registrar
