What can a Docker Hub username contain?

Letters and numbers only, 4 to 30 characters. Docker stores it in lowercase, and it can't be an email address.

An organization's namespace can't match an existing Docker ID. Docker doesn't publish separate character rules for it.[1, 2, 5]

Sign up with an email address, Google or GitHub, and pick your username on the way.

  3. Verify your account. With email, enter the six-digit code Docker sends; Docker blocks sign-in until you do.
