Basics
What does a .bnb name do?
It replaces your address: wallets and SPACE ID's partners resolve the name to the record address you set.
| Use | What it does |
|---|---|
| Payments | People send to name.bnb instead of a 0x address |
| Primary name | Shows your name for your address, one per network |
| Records | Custom records, such as an avatar, that BNB Chain apps can read |
| Integrations | Over 100 projects, including BscScan and Trust Wallet |
How do you set up your .bnb name?
Set its record address, then make it your primary name.
Advanced
Can you send to a .bnb name in MetaMask?
Yes, with SPACE ID's MetaMask Snap, which resolves names to addresses. The Snap costs nothing; you pay only the network fee for each transfer.[4, 5]
Can apps read your .bnb name?
Yes. SPACE ID's Web3 Name SDK (@web3-name-sdk/core) turns a .bnb name into an address and reads records such as the avatar. It also finds an address's primary name on each EVM chain. Since .bnb is built on ENS, much of the .eth guide applies too.[1, 3]
